Send Off

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  Always RSVP.  For me that means taking the first invitation that comes your way and going with it.  Well this Fourth of July weekend the first thing that arrived was a ticket home to St. Louis.  Granted it would have been my first Fouth in Chicago.  Furthermore,  I also RSVP'd way back when to head back to the Lou next weekend.  Even so I confirmed my attendance.  Could not be more happy to report that since sending in my "yes" I now have a loaded but relaxed agenda for this weekend, and have found that my trip back to the same destination next weekend will now have to be delayed by a day.  So you see, jumping on board early puts the wheels in motion for what's ahead.

Coasting

I finally have a wide open calendar for the weekend!  Actually the whole month of June is pretty much mine for the taking.  However, a much busy July and August await.  Always the planner, I've proclaimed this month Arts & Crafts Time.  Going to catch up on projects, save up some dough (the green paper kind), and load up on the leisurely activities.  Just the trick to keep you and your bank account looking slim and trim!

Putting Along

Another weekend is here again!  Looking forward to catching up on lost hours of sleep, watching the Masters, and meeting up with old friends.  Eighty degree temperatures are coming for Chicago tomorrow, along with thunderstorms.  Hey, you take what you can get, right?

Feast Not Fast

When thinking of what to do this weekend, the only thing that really came to mind was...well, food.  Lately I've been missing my orders of chips rice and queso (and I've yet to find a Mexican restaurant in Chicago with quality queso), fresh French bread with Brie, and so much more.  So feeling a little short on energy and comfort, I think that's just what I'll do.  Feast.

So excited for my mountain getaway in Utah!  That's where I'll be for the rest of the weekend with my friend Julie and her gracious family who are hosting us.  A wee bit nervous that I'll be a little rusty, but hey, there's always the ice bar, right?

Walk Like an Ace

In a lot of last minute chaos, everything seems to finally be decided for this weekend.  I'm going back home to St. Louis for Mardi Gras!  It's been a couple months and I couldn't be more excited for the short stint in town.  After a lot of back-and-forth with financial and timing practicality, I decided to throw it all out the window.  You're only young for a short while, and your life only happens once.  So after a productive {fingers crossed} day at work it's off to O'Hare and into St. Lou to be reunited with friends, family, and FUN FUN FUN!

Not sure about anyone else, but I could use a vacation.  Away from the cold.  Somewhere with a nice view.  A nice place to lounge.  And enough peace and quiet to read and listen to some Astrud Gilberto.  Yes, that sounds quite nice.

Nothingness

...and then I thought, today's a perfect day to do absolutely positively...nothing!  After a night out and recovering from quite the cold, nothing sounds better than books, movies, and playoff football.  Add a spritz of clean up time and I have myself a nice relaxing Saturday.  It's game time on Sunday though with the Bears game and, more importantly, the GOLDEN GLOBES!

I'll Be Home for Christmas

After work sharp I'll be catching a flight home to St. Louis to celebrate Christmas for a whole week and 60 hours!  Looking forward to my cousin John's annual bash Saturday evening, and then what could be a rough morning Sunday tailgating before my first Rams game of the season.  While I'll still be working thru the week, I'm excited to finally get my holiday shopping done and partake in some of my favorite traditions.

A weekend of winter and weddings (how's that alliteration for you?).  Cannot wait for bridal trunk shows and browsing when my fab friend and bride-to-be, Julie, comes into town this weekend!  Of course there will be plenty of time for fun and pizazz too.  It is Chicago after all, and snow is on the way.

Knife and Fork Gal

Hope everyone had a hearty Thanksgiving, and is continuing the holiday festivities through the weekend.  I'm very much looking forward to celebrating five years of still having great friends from high school tonight.  Then tomorrow I'm hoping to have lots to cheer for during the Mizzou/Kansas game (especially if Colorado can beat Nebraska tonight).
